Add a New Custom Field to Export Files

1. Go to Setup

2. Search for Object Manager 

4. Select Item Revisions or any other object

5. Click on Fields & Relationships

6. Click on the New button

  • Follow the instruction here to create the custom field
  • Edit Page Layout to position the newly added custom field(s) to desired location
  • Edit Field Sets (can only be done in SalesForce Classic) accordingly to include the custom field(s) you just add
  • Associate the field to one or more Categories if necessary

7. In Setup search for Permission Sets

8. Open Propel Full Use – Custom Fields permission set

  • Click on Object Settings
  • Find the object you just created custom field(s) for
  • Click on the Edit button 
  • Grant Edit access to the field(s) just added
  • Click Save

9. Open Propel Read Only – Custom Fields permission set

  • Click on Object Settings
  • Find the object you just created custom field(s) for
  • Click on the Edit button
  • Grant Edit access to the field(s) just added
  • Click Save

10. Go to Propel Setup and Click on Refresh Page Layout

Add to any relevant Field Set(can only be done in SalesForce Classic):

  • Export: sets fields in export file in the format of CSV
  • Export XML: sets fields in export file in the format of XML

Note that rich text works fine in both CSV and XML Export
