Search for Item or Change

Two ways to search for Item or Change Order:

  1. Items or Changes tab
  2. Global search

In Salesforce Classic

Items/Changes Tab

Go to Items tab

To see all Items, find View:, select "All", click "Go!"

 

Tip 1: You can sort the table by clicking the column headers

Global Search

Find Search Bar on top left of page

Type in Item description, Item number or Category

  • Capacitor (returns Items in Capacitor category and Items with "Capacitor" in description)
  • Capacitor AND Ceramics (returns Items with descriptions that include both "Capacitor" and "Ceramics")
  • Ca* (returns Items that starts with "Ca", including Capacitor, Cable, Cap...)
  • 5?0 (returns results with Items include 510, 520, 530...)

Tip 1: Asterisk (*) matches one or more characters and question mark (?) wildcard only matches single characters of the same type as the character it is placed after.

Tip 2: Use operators (AND, AND NOT, OR, parentheses, quotation marks) in search text to focus on search results.

Tip 3: If your search query contains punctuation or special characters and you’re not getting the right results, try your query with white spaces in place of the punctuation.

Search Results

Results grouped by record types (such as Items, Changes, Files...etc.) and sorted by relevance

You see top 5 Items or Changes for each of most recently used objects

Use left panel to focus on search results for a specific record type 

Tip: Click pushpin icon to pin your favorite records on top

To refine search results sort by column headings or use filters (enabled by your admin) 

In Salesforce Lightning

Items/Changes Tab

Go to Items or Changes tab

Items home page displays Items you recently viewed or edited

To see all Items, find Recently Viewed dropdown and select All
